Sergey traces his culinary roots to when he was growing up in Belarus. From milking cows to make butter or growing his own produce, Sergey learned the fundamentals for a career in the culinary arts.
After moving to the United States, Sergey applied the same determination and enthusiasm as he worked his way up the Boston fine dining scene. After starting as a dishwasher, he later became a sous chef at Post 390 and then kitchen manager at a trio of restaurants owned by Chef Will Gilson.
At Basalt, Sergey endeavors tirelessly to elevate his cooking and to inspire and be inspired by the people around him.
