Assistant General Manager
Born and raised on the island of Guam, Ryan Fernandez started in the hospitality industry at the early age of 8 helping his grandparents run their popular mom-and-pop convenience store in Tumon, the island's tourist district. He credits the teachings of his grandmother and father in forming the roots of his work ethic and ambitions.
After graduating from the University of Hawai'i School of Travel Industry Management, Ryan entered the management training program at Starwood Resorts Worldwide. There he focused on Food and Beverage and spent 9 years working for the Sheraton and Westin brands on Oahu and Kauai.
Seeking to continue his passion in the service industry, he joined the Basalt opening team as Dining Room Manager. In 2021, he was promoted to Assistant General Manager to help oversee service departments and beverage programs. Ryan is a proud father to Kotaro and Tamori.
